About the prototype
Because the UPF protection comes from the physical weave of the material and not chemicals or sprays, it will never wash out.
The main body of the shirt is rated UPF 50+ to protect from more than 98% of UV rays, and the strategically-placed mesh panels protect against 90% of UV rays.
The main body of the shirt is made from our proprietary AirThread fabric, which is 100% recycled polyester, while the mesh panels are made of 100% nylon.
Because our shirt protects from 98% of the sun’s rays, it’s not necessary to wear sunscreen underneath, but you should still always apply sunscreen to exposed areas of skin.
While this shirt was designed for everyday wear, you can also wear it to go swimming.
The protection in Happy Gear apparel comes from the physical structure of the weave, and never from chemicals or sprays.

Yes, we carefully designed the shirt and developed fabric that would be extremely comfortable for kids with sensitive skin. Our unique form of seamless stitching is soft against the skin, and our fabric is 6x more breathable than the leading UPF apparel brand. This means our shirts are able to protect, while staying comfortable in even warmer weather.
Our apparel should be machine washed on cold and hang-dried to extend the life of the garment.
Our shirt has a comfortable, relaxed fit, and follows standard children’s sizing. For best results, please consult our size chart.
Because this is an extremely limited release only for product testers, we don’t have the ability to accept returns or exchanges. All shirts sold to product testers will be final sale.
About one month after you receive your shirt, we’ll reach out with a survey to ask specific questions about the product to get your thoughts on fit, comfort, and durability.
