Ultra Series FAQ
· · ·
Both masks offer the same superior protection you’ve come to expect from Happy Masks and are designed with comfort and wearability in mind. Some customers will prefer the soft, feather-light feel of the Pro Series, while others will find the structured durability of the Ultra Series better fits their needs. The chart below outlines the key differences between the two lines.

If you’re looking for powerful protection with a lightweight feel and are happy to gently care for your mask, Pro is the right one for you. If your active lifestyle demands the convenience of a mask that stands up to a bit more rough-and-tumble treatment and an occasional spin in the washing machine, Ultra is a great choice.
Pro Series and Ultra Series each come in their own unique designs to differentiate between the two lines. Each line will have new designs released regularly.
All size dimensions are the same for both the Pro series and the Ultra Series, but the XL is only available in the Ultra Series.
Built to withstand rougher treatment, the Ultra Series features a stiffer inner support layer protecting the filter and an ultra-durable, wider nose wire. These make it the preferred option for kids and adults who put their masks through a bit of extra wear and tear.
Yes! Despite its firm, structured inner support layer, Ultra is just as breathable as the Pro Series.
The Pro Series and the Ultra Series are comparable masks with the same breathability and protection, but the additional resources and labor required to create Ultra’s more durable features are reflected in the pricing.
Like the Pro Series, the Ultra Series can be hand washed 50 times and retain its filtration efficiency. Preliminary tests of the Ultra Series show that it can safely be machine-washed 25 times on a cold, delicate cycle in a mesh-bag and air-dried. We are in the process of running additional Repeated Wash Tests and will provide more definitive washing guidance once they are complete.
While its structured inner non-woven support layer provides a sturdier feel, the Ultra Series uses the same built-in nanofiber membrane filter as our Pro Series, and filters just as effectively.
The Ultra Series is built for durability, and the shape and strength of the flat, wide wire allows it to better withstand wear and tear. Because of its wider shape, the wire would not fit into the trim, so it is sewn just below it. We know that our customers are looking for more durability in the Pro Series, too, so in late September we updated the Pro Series nose wire to be more resistant to normal wear and tear. We have received very positive feedback about this change.
The Ultra Series and the Pro Series both have five protective layers. A structured, non-woven layer next to the nanofiber membrane filter provides the sturdier feel.
